Sutherland Shire

One way in. Plan the bridge, then the move.

Bounded by the Georges River, Port Hacking, the Royal National Park and the Pacific, the Shire is an island in all but name, reached over Tom Uglys, the Captain Cook or Alfords Point. Almost every move in or out crosses one of them, and timing the crossing is half the job. Chart your route below, then get a quote and we will confirm the real access on a quick look.

Bridge & Access Planner

Plan the way in before you plan the move

The Shire is an island in all but name, so a move here crosses a bridge or threads a local street. Tell us where your move comes from, the suburb it is going to, and what is moving. The chart draws your route over the right crossing and the plan tells you what to expect, the timing, the kerb, the lift or the carry. We always confirm the real access on a quick look first.

The three ways into the Shire

North

Tom Uglys Bridge

The main way in from the St George side, landing at Sylvania at the top of the peninsula. It crawls at peak in both directions, so the crossing is timed for the quieter windows.

East

Captain Cook Bridge

The eastern approach across the Georges River toward Taren Point and Caringbah, feeding Captain Cook Drive down to the beaches. Busy at peak, so we plan an off-peak crossing.

West

Alfords Point Bridge

The crossing to the Menai plateau, the part of the Shire across the Georges River, and the route from the M5 side. Every Menai move is timed around it.
